Colloquium Series

The Physics Colloquia at the University of San Francisco are physics talks given by invited research physicists, on topics of current interest, in a manner accessible to undergraduates. The Physics Colloquium Series has been in place since 1994, without interruptions. To date, we have had over 150 talks, with distinguished speakers which included so far four Nobel Laureates.

All colloquia (typically starting at 4:00pm), are preceded by the Physics Coffee Hour a half hour earlier. Colloquia and refreshments take place on Wednesdays on Harney 127, unless noted otherwise.

Professor Douglas Osheroff (middle), 1996 Nobel Laureate in Physics, appears here on the occasion of his colloquium at USF, flanked by Professors Camblong (left) and Camperi (right).
